This lovely restaurant is one of the best places I have ever been. Nothing is left unconsidered. The quality of food, the courtesy of the staff, the many gluten free options in the menu, the perfect decor and even the toilets were in very clean conditions and with the highest quality toilet paper! Recipes are from the grandmother of one of the servers we met, and the flan the coco was just sublime. Jeffrey was great at taking care of us for the full experience. I would absolutely recommend a visit to this authentic and very high quality place in Santa Fe.

We just had dinner last night at Casa Chimayo and it was some of the finest food in the area. It was a very busy night due to the balloon fiesta. But despite everything the staff was incredibly kind and caring and the owners were some of the nicest folks I've met. I had the Blue Corn Huarache with carne adovada and it was absolutely delicious. They brought us an extra cordon bleu rellano for the table and it as well was superb. The salsas for the chips y duros had such a wonderful taste, slightly sweet, savory and a little spice. As my first visit to Santa Fe, these people made quite an impression with their care and love for their craft. The flan at the end of the night was a showstopper with taste and the chocolate truffle was sinfully delectable. I cannot wait for my next trip back to town to enjoy more food. The restaurant is in an 80+ year old house and Benina and Joaquin truly bring forth a loving experience. They will take care of you just like your parents or grandparents would. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food is spot on. Very tasty with great presentation and top notch service. The waiter took time to explain the chili differences as well as some of the history of the restaurant. Very old school New Mexican food choices as well as tasty Santa Fe dishes. We enjoyed the blue corn, crab enchiladas. Wow! Also a must try is the Elote appetizer. Very flavorful plus the New Mexican chimichanga burrito with pork adobada and "Christmas" chili was perfect. Finished with the New Mexican flour-less chocolate cake very rich and delicious. Highly recommend restaurant.

We have been to Santa Fe about 3 times now and have been to about a dozen different restaurants, of similar variety. Casa Chimayo absolutely takes the cake. The menu is a great mix of Mexican and New Mexican with an incredible attention to detail and care. The drink Menu include Margaritas, Sangria, and Beer. Paired with a fantastic list of appetizers and Entrees, nothing is left to be desired. The food is absolutely next level, and the recommendations from the staff are spot on. Benina is one of the owners and she spends her time greeting customers at tables and running a tight ship. She showed us such a fantastic time and even brought out different items for us to try. We are absolutely customers for life and I can’t recommend the restaurant enough. We did 2 dinners and one happy hour here. We’ll be back!

Very pleasurable experience. I began with elote, cut off the cob tableside by the waiter in an especially aesthetically pleasing manner with how whole 'ribs' of corn are intact on the plate, leaving it up to the consumer whether to fork them into smaller niblets or go for the full xylophone effect at once, enjoying the bursts of flavor with each chew. The corn was perfectly ripe with just the right balance of seasoning. I always order elote whenever I see it on a menu so I have a lot of experience to compare with and this is certainly one of the best. Other places may just serve all the niblets in a bowl with fantastic seasoning and it can be tastier than this one but none feels as authentic as Chimayo's and the plating beats all! For my entrée, Pato en Mole. This is a risk and a departure for me, duck in a Southwestern restaurant?! Perish the thought. It works though. Despite the fact that it's aptly drowned in an excellent mole I could tell that it was a little overcooked albeit in its favor because some of the nearly crispy bites were somewhat caramelized in a tasty manner, cover it in mole and it becomes special. The sides on the plate are fine, nothing particularly craveable. For dessert, the coconut flan. Home run! Perfect texture whereas most flan I've had in the past is too "solid" and made too quickly and carelessly and comes out like old Jello. Here, your spoon will easily slide right down to the plate with a light click just the way you want it to. Add some viscous caramel, tasty coconut flakes and cream and this is a great success! More outstanding plating with this item. Three of us solo diners at different tables formed a triangle consuming things at different times but we all met with the flan, each of us simultaneously understanding in silence this gustatory reckoning. My one small critique is that it definitely needs more caramel because there's not enough for every bite. I would also prefer a bit more coconut but the flan itself is of such quality that it's pleasurable on its own. The horchata seemed on spot but I haven't had this enough to really know... regardless, I would order that again. Wish I wasn't hungover so that I could try some of their other drinks! Next time... and there will certainly be a next time! The environs are particularly cozy and tasteful which inherently adds to the dining experience. Bravo Chimayo!

We had a fantastic experience at Casa Chimayo. Our server was personable and made excellent recommendations. The watermelon margaritas were refreshing and the salmon tacos had a generous portion of salmon. We also enjoyed the stuffed sopapilla with carne adovada (red‑chile braised pork) and the chicken enchiladas were very good too! All of the food was flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend!

As one can guess from the name, they use proper Chimayo chiles - if you're only familiar with Hatch chile, chimayos tend to be smokier and fruitier, with less vegetal flavor. The vegetarian enchiladas are to die for - they're filled with a variety of vegetables, and have a strong blue corn flavor. Normally I recommend ordering christmas sauce, to taste a restaurant's red and green chile sauces. At Casa Chimayo, don't bother - they have the best red chile sauce I've ever tasted. I could drink a gallon of it. It's complex, darkly flavored without being overly smokey, and just spicy enough to wake up the taste buds.
